When the NATO led Resolute Support mission sought risk mitigation strategies from industry, DGC International responded with an approach to reduce risk to the warfighter supply chain in Afghanistan. Specifically, we proposed the creation of a state of the art, bulk fuel storage and supply facility just minutes from downtown Kabul. Our approach was securely grounded in data; the deployed DCG International management team obtained warfighter projected fuel usage reports and used them to explore the most efficient and effective logistics mechanisms. The proposal also acknowledged the reality of unforeseen demands; we suggested maintaining fuel stocks of at least 60% above projected requirements. This would ensure that the client’s missions could be fulfilled without delay, even in emergency situations.
