The DGC International team designed and built out four Afghanistan sports park complexes in 2012. The sites are located in Kabul, Jalalabad, and Mazar-e-Sharif, and are considered cornerstones of urban development in their communities. Each site includes a basketball and volleyball court; a walking/jogging track; two restrooms; a small turf field; a coffee shop, and an administrative office. The DGC International team furnished all electrical, plumbing, site design, construction, maintenance, and logistics services. The services also included site design, AutoCad planographs, generator maintenance, site cleanup, security, and grounds maintenance. All sites were constructed simultaneously and required significant logistics and construction coordination. DGC International mobilized approximately 200 personnel for this contract. Upon completion of the program, the sites were dedicated by the United States Embassy and handed off in a ceremony to the Kabul Municipality. This project was funded by the Department of State, US Embassy Public Affairs Section – Afghanistan.
